Where is Silent Motion based?
Silent Motion is based around Columbia, South Carolina. Members outside the area can stay involved through events near them and the club’s online community.
Do I need an expensive or heavily modified car?
No. Silent Motion welcomes different makes, models, and build stages. Respect, shared passion, and involvement matter more than a price tag or horsepower number.
How do I join?
Complete the introduction form on our Join the Club page ↗. Leadership reviews membership inquiries and follows up directly.
How often should members attend events?
Effective November 1, 2026, all members are required to attend at least two car events per month, with three or more encouraged. Members living within 90 minutes of Columbia, South Carolina must attend at least two club meets, cruises, car shows, or other events Silent Motion hosts or attends each month. Members farther away may meet the two-event minimum at automotive events in their own area and are encouraged to share photos or updates. Exceptions are considered case by case—contact leadership about work, school, family, or personal circumstances. Repeated failure to meet the minimum without communicating with leadership may result in membership review or removal.
What if I can’t meet the attendance expectation?
Talk with leadership. Exceptions can be considered case by case for scheduling conflicts or personal circumstances. Repeated inactivity without communication may lead to a membership review.
What online participation is expected?
From November 1, 2026, all members are expected to make an effort to stay connected through BAND, Instagram, or other club platforms. Interact with posts, share flyers, participate in discussions, or support other members. Leadership evaluates overall involvement rather than counting likes or shares.
How does someone become a VIP?
VIP recognition is selected by Silent Motion leadership based on overall involvement, consistency, attitude, support, commitment, and positive representation of the club. The member points leaderboard helps recognize dedication, but there is no set point requirement and points do not automatically grant VIP status. Every dedicated member has the opportunity to be considered.
How do member points work?
Members earn points for verified attendance and participation at official meets, cruises, shows, photoshoots, community events, event setup, and recruiting an active member. CT tracks participation and updates the leaderboard on BAND. Points accumulate over time and do not expire. Media personnel and sponsors contribute in other ways and are outside the regular member points system.

Does buying merch make me a member or VIP?
A merchandise purchase supports the club, but membership and VIP recognition are separate decisions made by leadership.
Who can I contact?
Is Instagram required to join?
Yes. An Instagram account is required to join Silent Motion. Include your Instagram handle in the membership application so leadership can connect with you.
